Do you know what we should all be using in the morning 365 days a year?
Points to everyone who answered, an SPF. The importance of daily protection from UV rays should not be underestimated. Protecting our skin every day by replacing the vitamins that are damaged by light is vital to our skins health. The focus is not to ‘block out’ the light but to use a weaker SPF with stronger vitamin replenishments with antioxidant supplementation.
Environ have created two SPF 15 which protects the skin against age accelerating light, believing that a higher SPF means a higher concentration of chemicals which do not necessarily offer much better protection. To put this into numbers there is a 3.4% increase in protection against UVB from and SPF 15 to 30 yet the level of chemicals for a higher SPF can potentially cause more free radicals and damage.
RAD £20 and RAD Sheild £30 can be applied at the end of your skin care in the morning and will also help protect your skin against the lights indoors, our screens and external light through the window so even if you are staying home we need to protect our skin.
Home Exfoliation – How often and what I would recommend?
Ideally you want to aim to do home exfoliation 2-4 times a week (this will alter post treatment). My favourite is the Hydrating Clay Masque £34 Another hero product from Environ which contains intensely hydrating ingredients with the finest clay. It assists in absorbing excess oils and micro-exfoliating the skin without compromising the skins barrier function.
You can use as a masque – leave on for 10 minutes and massage off. If you have an oilier skin you can leave on overnight, or as a micro-exfoliator applying a thin layer over a pre-cleanser and massage over the skin for 3-5 minutes.
